        Save Your Precious Motorcycle

Now-days thieves have become so creative and fast, that they amaze us by coming up with new ideas to steal. Whether it’s a tiny mobile phone or a motorbike, they do not leave anything once they put their eyes on it. Motorcycles are no exception for them. All kind of bikes gets stolen once you have a loose eye on them.

It sure is upsetting to get anything that is close to your heart get stolen, but in case of a motorcycle, it can be more upsetting because it’s not just any small thing. Nobody will like that some ungrateful person sways away their precious bike which they cherish so much. So, it is better to be two steps ahead of them to keep your beloved motorcycle safe from getting stolen.

Motorcycles can be stolen anywhere at any time. Maybe it can happen when you are on a road trip with your friends. That is why having proper motorcycle accessories are the basic rules to keep in mind, especially for long bike rides.

It may be some joyriders or real professional thieves who can have an eye on your motorcycle. They may be after some specific part of your motorbikes like tires or engine, or maybe they can take away the whole vehicle. The only ways to steal a bike are either to ride it away or hefting the whole vehicle away on some truck or big vehicle.

While being a little careless can result in losing your cherished vehicle for life, on the opposite side, a little awareness can save your motorbike from any kind of stealing.

Here are some points to keep in mind to avoid any kind of motorcycle theft.

        1. Cover it up

Thieves can be after anything, maybe your luggage plates or carry rack, who knows. So, It is better to keep it hidden from the eyes of those clever thieves in order to protect it. Use a motorcycle cover to cover it whether it is in your garage or a parking lot. Keep it covered so that nobody knows what is inside. You can also use a cover of some other brand of motorcycles that is less likely to be stolen. Using electronic covers can be of a great help too.

        2. Just lock it

This the first step defense to stop anybody from getting their hands on your vehicle. While it may seem the most obvious thing but some of us can forget these basic things in a hurry. And it leads to loss of that vehicle. Be careful when you park your motorbike in a crowded area. Be sure to lock your motorcycle and keep the keys safe with you.

        3. Be double sure

To be more aware and careful, try locking your motorbike with several locks. Having separate ignition lock and steering lock will be useful. Be sure to keep a U-lock or cable in you givi bag always so you can anchor your bike’s tires to some solid object near it so that nobody thinks of having extra leverage to go for your bike. Wherever you park your vehicle, a public parking lot or a garage, be sure to lock it several times.

        4. Do not compromise with quality

Whatever accessory you use to make your motorcycle safe from stealing, make sure to get the best quality. Low quality can lead you to a false assurance that your bike is safe when it is not. So do not compromise on quality.

        5. Alarms

The best way to get notified if someone tries to lay hands on your motorcycle. Use a type of alarm that everyone will pay attention to, so even if you are not around somebody else can also save your bike from being stolen.

        6. Watch out from professionals

The most dangerous kind to steal your bike is this one. Once they get their eyes on your bike they can make sure to try every possible method to steal it away from you.
They may be trailing you to know every place you park your motorcycle at so that they can come back and easily haul it off when you are not around. So watch your back and if someone suspicious caught your eyes try to lose them.

        7. Choose the right parking

This can be a bit time consuming but a very helpful step to keep your vehicle safe. Choose a spot from where it is difficult to sway off your vehicle. This may discourage the thief from taking away your motorcycle.

Lastly, never leave your motorcycle in someone else’s security. Most of the time the security guards are the reason for such thefts. Be it KTM, Yamaha or BMW – once stolen, it is very difficult to get back your beloved motorbike. That is why it is better to take safety measures and prevent that from happening in first place. Who knows your little effort of putting a cover or a metal anchor can make those thieves move on to another vehicle.
